To those of you who have bought a brand new Tomtom one XL?

I have bought a ‘brand new’ tomtom one XL from ebay, but am not so sure if it is brand new. The manual speaks of The Product Code card, which requires scratching off to reveal a number. However, there does not appear to be anything to scratch off – the number is already visable. Are product codes now supplied like this? Also, do these devices come with a one-time free download of Speed Camera updates, or do they always have to be purchased? Thanks.
